Are Uniforms Really Necessary?

Uniforms are a trademark of school, colleges, universities or work places, different institutions and organizations have different uniforms. Uniforms give a sense of uniformity. They show that a person belongs to a specific organization. Nowadays, school and colleges have added another feature, better and better-looking uniforms than others.

We've seen and heard, and we also might have done it, modifying uniforms. Pants made skinny, very skinny, which we called 'chuz', many mightn't bother to consider, but many wear socks of different football clubs, different colors than which was prescribed by the institution, wearing shirts untucked, wearing belts, flashy and out of uniform, wearing a tie hanging loose, wearing pants quite low, skirts very short (though only some girls do that). In short, people like their uniforms 'Punk' or 'Hip-hop'. People rarely wear the uniforms, the way they should be worn.

Uniforms give a sense of uniformity, modifying them is regarded as a work of disgrace and disrespect to the uniform, and to the institution, it belongs to. We can say that those who modify their uniforms are disobedient and undisciplined but on the other hand, they can be said as revolutionaries, who want to express themselves and bring in a chance in the current style. Uniforms give the feeling that all are the same, so similar like a group of robots, all of the same color, same model, same casing and the same work to do. Modifying the uniforms can be said as practicing our right to be different from others, stand out of the crowd, and the freedom to express ourselves.

We can also say that a uniform violates our right to be different from others, express ourselves, and stand out in the crowd. That's why, we believe firmly, to prevent modification of uniforms and violation of our right to express ourselves. Uniforms should be banned.

We should be given the right to wear what we like. As clothes is a form to express ourselves. But to prevent wearing too flashy outfits, a certain dress code should be made like pants be worn only up to a certain level not lower than that, they shouldn't be too skinny or too baggy, clothes shouldn't be too flashy, but can be a little flashy. Girls shouldn't wear skirts shorter than a certain level and tops not too short.

If uniform are abolished, and students are allowed to wear clothes they like, the way they like, deification of uniforms would be something out of question, and our right to express ourselves and be different from would never be violated.
